(Daniel 9:24-27, Complete Jewish Bible)

24 “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and for your holy city for putting an end to the transgression, for making an end of sin, for forgiving iniquity, for bringing in everlasting justice, for setting the seal on vision and prophet, and for anointing the Especially Holy Place. 25 Know, therefore, and discern that seven weeks [of years] will elapse between the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Yerushalayim until an anointed prince comes. It will remain built for sixty-two weeks [of years], with open spaces and moats; but these will be troubled times. 26 Then, after the sixty-two weeks, Mashiach will be cut off and have nothing. The people of a prince yet to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary, but his end will come with a flood, and desolations are decreed until the war is over. 27 He will make a strong covenant with leaders for one week [of years]. For half of the week he will put a stop to the sacrifice and the grain offering. On the wing of detestable things the desolator will come and continue until the already decreed destruction is poured out on the desolator.”

Here are the major time frames as mentioned in the prophecy:

  • First, is the 70 weeks given for the people and the holy city to finish the transgression and sinning before God, to make reconciliation and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up VISION AND PROPHECY, and for anointing the ESPECIALLY HOLY PLACE (verse 24)

  • Second, is the 7 weeks  between the command or decree to restore and build Jerusalem UNTIL AN ANOINTED PRINCE COMES (verse 25)

  • Third, is the 62 weeks when the Especially Holy Place will remain built. After that time frame of 62 weeks, the Maschiach will be cut off and have nothing.

What is represented by each week in the prophecy?

(Ezekiel 4:6)

6 And when you have completed them, lie again on your right side; then you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days. I have laid on you a day for each year.

Granted that the prophecy of Daniel experienced the same spirit of prophecy as with God's instruction to the prophet Ezekiel, the calculation for each day as given by God is 1 year. If so, then:

70 weeks x 7 = 490 days (or years) / 7 weeks x 7 = 49 days (or years) / 62 weeks x 7 = 434 days (or years)

Now, let us find:

When was the beginning of the 490 years (70 weeks) of God's grace period to Israel to reconcile back with God and to seal up the VISION and PROPHECY and anoint or rebuilt the Holy Place or Temple? This can be safely pinpointed to the time when Ezra commenced the REBUILDING of the Holy Place or Temple in 457 BCE. Add 490 years and it will bring you to the year 33 AD, the year when The Savior Yeshua was sacrificed on the cross for the people's RECONCILIATION with God that brought EVERLASTING RIGHTEOUSNESS (Isa. 42:6). This is an event that undoubtedly SEALED OR FULFILLED THE VISION AND PROPHECY!

How about the 49 years (7 weeks) that started when the decree to restore and build Jerusalem and lasted until an anointed prince comes? When is this time frame and who are the entities mentioned? It will be a safe assumption that the start of this time frame refers to the Second Decree to rebuild the Holy Temple by Darius in 520 BCE since he funded the rebuilding and ensured its completion around 516 BCE, and ended in the reign of Ahasueros (Xerxes), the king of Persia who saved the lives of the Jews by allowing them to arm and defend themselves from his previous royal decree that ordered the annihilation of all the Jews in his kingdom. No other king or individual has saved as many Jews as he had. If so, he must be the prophesied 'anointed prince' who will come at the end of the 49 years (must be around 71 BCE).

How about the 434 years (62 weeks)? When is this time frame and who is the prophesied 'mashiach or messiah who will be cut-off and will have nothing'? This must point to the killing of the last Hasmonean king Antigonus Matathias in 37 BCE. It must be understood that the Hasmonean dynasty claimed to be the line of messiahs

Why can the prophecy NOT be about the restoration as presented by a group of INC1914 restorationists? Here are some of the valid reasons:

1. Their claim that the 490 years prophesied started in 1521 (arrival of the Spanish colonizers) and ended in 2011 can not be valid. How so? As mentioned in the prophecy, the ENTIRETY of the 490 years (or 70 weeks) was decreed by God to be His grace period for the fulfillment of all the things that He mentioned, while the INC1914 only started in 1913 (not even 1914). If so, then the time counter can only start in 1913 (1914 if you insist) giving us only 97 (or 98) years (2011-1914), a big difference from the 490 prophesied years

Why can they NOT insist in including the years between 1913 all the way back to 1521? Simply because (for the sake of this argument), based on the INC1914 official doctrine, there was still no restoration of God's nation (no, I don't agree with this supposition either) that happened. And so, the following COULD NEVER HAVE BEEN fulfilled -  “Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and for your holy city for putting an end to the transgression, for making an end of sin, for forgiving iniquity, for bringing in everlasting justice, for setting the seal on vision and prophet, and for anointing the Especially Holy Place." (verse 24)

2.  The true beginning of the INC1914 is in 1913, as very well documented in their 5th Year Anniversary celebrated in 2018. If this is the case, then all their counting before and after 1913 will be off, even if we have to include the years 1521 to 1913.

3.  The command to COMPLETELY RENEW the members' life was not only given in 2011! This is part of the INC1914 sermons as far as I could remember.

This restorationist group has crossed the line of blasphemy and has even surpassed that of Brother FYM's claim to some Messianic prophecies. They claim that their leader is the prophesied entity in Deuteronomy 18:18, as well as in Acts 3:19-26. Here are the prophecies they claim:

(Deuteronomy 18:18)

18 I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.

(Acts 3:19-26)

19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, 20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before, 21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began. 22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 24 Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. 25 You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ 26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”

Before we even continue, do they not read the name of The Savior that is mentioned in verses 20 and 26? And yet, they continue with their claim that it is their leader in hiding as the prophesied prophet?

Let us continue in our probe. What is the uniqueness of the prophesied Prophet? God Himself will put His words in His mouth so that He shall be the Speaker of His Message. Who could this Prophet be?

(Isaiah 59:16, 21)

16 He saw that there was no man,
And wondered that there was no intercessor;
Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him;
And His own righteousness, it sustained Him...

21 “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.”

The Entity whom God personally put His words in His mouth is the same person who has God's Spirit as His Covenant with the people. He was the same Salvation brought forth by God's own arm and righteousness. Who is He who was MADE GOD'S official representative? He is none other than God's Son, The Lord Yeshua himself. Is He not the One who was given as God's Covenant who was called in His righteousness (Isa. 42:6) who was made God's official representative by virtue of God's own Seal (John 6:27b)?

(Isaiah 42:6)

“I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles,

(John 6:27b)

... which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.”

HOW DID THE CHRIST YESHUA further confirm his fulfillment of the prophesied Prophet or official representative of God who was given God's words?

(John 17:8a)

8 For I have given to them the words which You have given Me...

The prophesied Prophet who was given God's words by God Himself IS NONE OTHER THAN THE CHRIST YESHUA! Why are we certain that their other, or should I say default, claim that it is ALSO FULFILLED in their group leader is not a valid claim? Simply because the prophecy in Deuteronomy 18:18 points to a SINGULAR Entity - A PROPHET!

This presentation is NOT INTENDED to shame anyone. It is intended to recalibrate our understanding so that NO ONE WILL FALL INTO blaspheming the prophecies of God in the Scriptures. The prophecy in focus points to God's Son alone and to NO ONE ELSE! Let us all praise God for this truth.

For now, I rest my case. ..
