Eternal Life Series, Lesson 3

(Matthew 12:31-32)

31 “Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. 32 Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

Of all the guarantees that The Lord Yeshua has given that pertain to the attainment of salvation and eternal life, this one comes in a form of a warning where failing to heed is a guaranteed disconnect from eternal life. What did The Christ forewarn people that can cost them their chance for salvation and eternal life?

(Mark 3:29, NKJV in all verses)

29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”

To blaspheme or speak against The Holy Spirit is a sin without forgiveness and subjects the blasphemer to eternal condemnation in the lake of fire. Because The Lord desires those who believe in Him to be saved, He gave us a warning not to fall into such a mortal sin. If so, there is then a need for us to know who and what is The Holy Spirit so that we can never blaspheme or speak against it? Another issue that needs clarification is:  WHY CAN'T THE LORD YESHUA FORGIVE THOSE WHO BLASPHEME THE HOLY SPIRIT?

It is a fact that Christianity cannot be complete without a significant reliance on The Holy Spirit as a building power to an individual believer and to Christianity as a whole. For most of Christ's believers, they recognize it as the third person of God based on the trinity doctrine. Up until now, little is understood as to the essence of The Holy Spirit, its relevance and purpose.

How is The Holy Spirit recognized and presented in the Old Testament?

(Isaiah 63:10-11)

10 But they rebelled and grieved His Holy Spirit;
So He turned Himself against them as an enemy,
And He fought against them.

11 Then he remembered the days of old,
Moses and his people, saying:
“Where is He who brought them up out of the sea
With the shepherd of His flock?
Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them...

The Holy Spirit is the one whom God 'put within the people of Israel,' or the one given unto them through their then appointed leader or shepherd, Moses. It is the same one whom the people of Israel grieved and rebelled from. Which is The Holy Spirit given to Moses and His people?

(Deuteronomy 4:7, 9-13)

7 “For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him?...

9 Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life. And teach them to your children and your grandchildren, 10 especially concerning the day you stood before the Lord your God in Horeb, when the Lord said to me, ‘Gather the people to Me, and I will let them hear My words, that they may learn to fear Me all the days they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children.’

11 “Then you came near and stood at the foot of the mountain, and the mountain burned with fire to the midst of heaven, with darkness, cloud, and thick darkness. 12 And the Lord spoke to you out of the midst of the fire. You heard the sound of the words, but saw no form; you only heard a voice. 13 So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone.

The Holy Spirit which was given to ancient Israel through Moses was His Covenant unto them, the Ten Commandments spoken by God Himself. Being God's Covenant shows its clear and straightforward manifestation of His DIVINE WILL unto those who were within its bounds. If so, The Holy Spirit is nothing less than the DIVINE WILL or PURPOSE of God (the same one they grieved and rebelled from - Isa. 63:10).

From these Scriptural facts, we can derive a clearer understanding of the attributes of The Holy Spirit to be as:

  1. God's Word (singular as a collective sum of the whole)

  2. Preceeding from God Himself (spoken and written by God)

  3. God's Covenant that reflects His DIVINE WILL or PURPOSE

Who also qualifies with the same attributes as The Holy Spirit? None other than God's Son himself, The Lord Yeshua The Christ. How does The Lord Yeshua possess the attributes of The Holy Spirit?

(Revelation 19:13)

13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.

(Isaiah 45:23)

23 I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath.

(John 6:46, 62)

46 Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from God; He has seen the Father... 62 What then if you should see the Son of Man ascend where He was before?

(Isaiah 42:6)

6 “I, the Lord, have called You in righteousness,
And will hold Your hand;
I will keep You and give You as a covenant to the people,
As a light to the Gentiles...

The Christ Yeshua possesses the same attributes of The Holy Spirit of:  1.) being God's Word, 2.) having preceeded directly from God, and 3.) being God's Covenant unto man reflecting His DIVINE WILL concerning man and his salvation.

How could The Lord Yeshua be of the same exact attributions as The Holy Spirit?

(Isaiah 59:21)

21 “As for Me,” says the Lord, “this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants’ descendants,” says the Lord, “from this time and forevermore.”

The Lord Yeshua is the One prophesied as the PERSONIFICATION or human manifestation of The Holy Spirit which is God's Covenant unto man! How so? The Lord God testified how His (Holy) Spirit is upon Him and how He have put His words in His mouth. What has resulted because God manifested His Holy Spirit and His words unto His Son Yeshua The Christ? Through Him, God's transmission of His DIVINE WILL unto man became even more personal. In what way?

(John 17:7-8)

Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. For I have given to them the words which You have given Me...

All throughout the earthly life and ministry of The Lord Yeshua, God's DIVINE WILL has been deeply embedded with man. And with Him as the personified Word and Holy Spirit of God, God's love and mercy for man has been profoundly magnified.

How does The Christ show His embodiment of The Holy Spirit or His Divine Will? It is proven by the fact that The Holy Spirit will not be received unless The Christ has to leave first:

(John 16:7)

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.

The very reason why the Helper (or The Holy Spirit - Jn. 14:26) will not be received until The Lord Yeshua leaves is because it was still embodied or contained in Him. There was a need for The Lord to leave first in order to free up The Holy Spirit to allow its embodiment unto those who can receive it.

What further proves of the interconnectivity and interdependency of The Lord Yeshua with The Holy Spirit?

(John 14:26)

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

(John 15:26)

“But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.

The Holy Spirit is referred by The Christ as the Spirit of Truth. How can this support our belief concerning their interconnectivity?

(John 6:63)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

(John 14:6)

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Based on these evangelical facts, the Spirit is the words of The Lord Yeshua while the Truth is He himself! By substitution then, The Spirit of Truth is the words of Christ. How then can we benefit from the words of The Lord Jesus being The Spirit of Truth? They can teach us all things that we need to know in order to receive eternal life, and they will also remind us of all the things that He said (Jn. 14:26) especially those stated in parables (Mat. 13:3, 34-35). What else can The Spirit of Truth tell the true disciples of The Lord Jesus The Christ?

(John 16:13)

13 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

In the physical absence of the Savior, the same Spirit of Truth will be working in His place so that His disciples will always be guided to know all the truth that He wants us to know, even for the things yet to come. With this understanding, we then ought to give the highest importance and reverence to His words being The Spirit of Truth or Holy Spirit. When it comes to the process by which we should understand the parables and sayings of The Lord Jesus we should only invoke His words to give us the enlightenment in order for us to fully understand His message.

(Luke 1:15b)

... He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb.

When John the Baptist was still in his mother's womb, he was already filled with God's Spirit. In contrast with many people's belief that The Holy Spirit can only be received based on one's worthiness unto God. They think that one of the conditions in receiving The Holy Spirit is that one's virtues and deeds have to be worthy and pleasing unto God first. But this was definitely not the case with John the Baptist.

The same Holy Spirit spoken by the angel Gabriel to fill John even in his mother's womb will also come upon Mary when God's Power will conceive in her The Son of God (Lk. 1:35), God's same Word who became flesh (Jn. 1:1, 14). What is simply shown by these two separate instances involving God's Holy Spirit? That God's Holy Spirit is indeed His own Divine Will that will surely come to pass irregardless of the world's natural laws or logic, and that it will be fulfilled even beyond man's realm and understanding. And this is well stated by the angel Gabriel himself:

(Luke 1:37)

37 For with God nothing will be impossible."

The fact that everything will happen when desired and purposed by God was echoed by The Savior in his statement:

(Matthew 6:10)

10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.

How else can we prove that the Holy Spirit whom the early Israelites rebelled from (Isa. 63:10) is indicative of God's DIVINE WILL?

(Isaiah 30:1)

“Woe to the rebellious children,” says the Lord,
“Who take counsel, but not of Me,
And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit,
That they may add sin to sin...

The mention of God about His Spirit could only refer to His Divine Will or Purpose! The Spirit of God is not another separate entity as described by the trinitarian concept of God believed in by the majority of Christians.

How else did the Prophet Isaiah relate God's Spirit (Holy) to be His Divine Will or Purpose?

(Isaiah 30:27, 30, 33)

27 Behold, the name of the Lord comes from afar,
Burning with His anger,
And His burden is heavy;
His lips are full of indignation,
And His tongue like a devouring fire...

30 The Lord will cause His glorious voice to be heard,
And show the descent of His arm,
With the indignation of His anger
And the flame of a devouring fire,
With scattering, tempest, and hailstones...

33 For Tophet was established of old,
Yes, for the king it is prepared.
He has made it deep and large;
Its pyre is fire with much wood;
The breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone,
Kindles it.

The Prophet Isaiah prophesied of God's anger describing His tongue to be like a devouring fire that will cause His glorious voice to be heard. He further described God's Breath to be like a stream of brimstone.

Isn't God's Breath the same Spirit (thus Holy) that He breathed unto man to make him a living soul?

(Genesis 2:7)

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

(Job 33:4)

4 The Spirit of God has made me,
And the breath of the Almighty gives me life.

The fact that The Holy Spirit is God's Divine Will or Purpose proves that it is an ENTITY OF GOD but not as a separate entity as explained by Christianity. It is not the supposed Third Person of the Trinity who is God. The same truth can be told about God's Son being His Word - He is also an ENTITY OF GOD but not God, neither is He the Second Person of God. Truth be told, the concept of the Trinity is simply an invented dogma by the Catholic Church which was later adopted by the majority of Christianity.

Here's another fact: The trinitarian concept of God, that The Son as well as The Holy Spirit are also Gods, is a blasphemy against The Holy Spirit as proven by the fact that this can separate man from Eternal Life as declared by The Savior:

(John 17:1, 3)

Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You... 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

This statement of The Savior directly points to The Father as the ONLY true God - not including himself or The Holy Spirit. After all, The Word of God that was made a Son as well as His Holy Spirit or Divine Will are but entities and manifestations of the lone God.

(John 6:63)

It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Whereas in the time of Moses God wrote the words of the Ten Commandments that became The Covenant or The Holy Spirit, in the time of The Lord Yeshua, God transmitted them through Him. Let us be reminded that because God's Son is also the Word of God, His words are God's words as well. They simply flow-through Christ and this is how God's transmission of His Holy Spirit has become personal in His Son,       Yeshua The Christ. After all, God's Son is His legitimate representative being the Angel of His Presence (Isa. 63:8-9), the visible representative of the invisible God (Jn. 14:8-9) who alone has the Seal of The Almighty God (Jn. 6:27 / Rev. 7:2-3) - His Holy Spirit or DIVINE WILL.

The words of The Christ Yeshua that He left on earth have become a POWERFUL INTELLECTUAL LIFE FORM that possesses power and might. What proves the soundness of this understanding? The fact that the words of Christ will do the judgment for Him in the last day:

(John 12:47-48)

And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him — the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

(John 16:7-11)

7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.

That Christ's words are life-giving spirit means that they possess God's Power and Authority, as proven by the fact that it will do the judgment for Him on the last day! How is this understanding backed by the prophecies stated both before and after the time of The Christ Yeshua on earth?

(Isaiah 11:4)

But with righteousness He shall judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the meek of the earth;
He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.

(Rev 19:15, read also Rev 1:16; 2:12)

Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations.

The statement of The Christ that His WORD (as a collective sum of His words) will do the judgment in the last day (Jn. 12:48) parallels the truth about His words as ‘spirit and life’ (Jn. 6:63). The Word of The Christ is the same one prophesied by Isaiah about The Lord Yeshua-Christos "striking (or judging) the earth with the ‘rod of His mouth' - also prophetically referred by Apostle John as ‘a sharp sword that goes out of His mouth to strike the nations.’

(For a related reading on the book of Revelation’s WINDS, please bookmark and read:

If the collective words of Christ that He left in the world have become The Holy Spirit that has taken an intelligent and powerful life form, how is it different from all other spirits that are also in the world. Also, what makes it a POWERFUL INTELLECTUAL ENTITY? The Holy Spirit in its entirety is comprised of SEVEN SPIRITS OR SPIRIT-ENTITIES, each one possessing different powers and specializations, thus making it THE MOST COMPLETE POWER PRESENT ON EARTH. What are these seven spirits or spirit-entities?

(Isaiah 11:1-2)

There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse,
And a Branch shall grow out of his roots.
The Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him,
The Spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The Spirit of counsel and might,
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

(Revelation 5:5-6, read also Revelation 4:5)

But one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.”

And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth.

The prophesied Rod and Branch from Jesse by the Prophet Isaiah is the same Root of David prophesied by Apostle John and the fulfillment is none other than The Lord Yeshua-Christos. The seven Spirits of God possessed by the Lamb or Christ according to John are the same spirit-entities prophesied by Isaiah to rest upon The Christ. The seven spirit-entities are:

  1. Spirit of the Lord (which is the spirit of justice - Isa. 42:1)

  2. Spirit of Wisdom

  3. Spirit of Understanding

  4. Spirit of Counsel

  5. Spirit of Might

  6. Spirit of Knowledge

  7. Spirit of Fear of the Lord

Their specialized powers bound together make up the very Powerful and Living Holy Spirit, much more powerful than even the sum total of all other spirits and powers present in the world.

The reason that The Lord Yeshua cannot forgive those who blaspheme The Holy Spirit is because it is the very DIVINE WILL of God. How can one blaspheme against it? When he teaches wrong teachings and interpretations of God's DIVINE WILL that can disconnect man from God. And because it is the same Spirit of Truth or words of The Savior, teaching anything that alters His message is also tantamount to 'blaspheming or speaking against it.' It is then imperative that we should always preserve the integrity of the words of The Lord, because failure to do so compromised our chance for salvation and the promised eternal life.

How did The Messiah exemplify the importance of subjecting God's Divine Will?

(Matthew 7:15, 21)

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves... 21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

As emphasized by The Christ, only those who do God's Divine Will shall enter the Kingdom of Heaven. For this reason He warned us about the false prophets that proliferate in the world especially today because what they do is against God's Divine Will or Spirit. What is God's Divine Will that is broken by the world's false prophets?

(John 6:39)

39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

The Divine Will or Holy Spirit of God that all should be kept in His Son is that which is broken by the false prophets. Fact is, preachers from different churches and religions are dividing God's people as if they are a spoil. They have truly taken advantage of the believers in so many ways possible. They have drawn a line of separation among the believers by judging and making them feel a sense of self-guilt that discourages them from maintaining their relationship with God through His Son. This deed is that which directly blasphemes The Holy Spirit or Divine Will of God!

Herein lies a great burden among all who preach the Gospel of The Christ. All preachers must ensure that they are not teaching anything that run against His message, anything that can potentially disconnect man from his union with The Messiah. As ascertained by The Savior, those who do so will have their share of eternal condemnation (Mk. 3:29) in the lake of fire together with the false prophets of the world:

(Revelation 20:10)

10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where[b] the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
